School Safety

The safety of our pupils is extremely important.  Please help us to keep your children safe by following our procedures.

If your child is walking to school by themselves, please encourage them to walk safely on the pavement and cross with our crossing patrol officer Mrs Brownlie.

Drop off and Pick up

If you are driving your child to school, or collecting them at the end of the day, please avoid stopping on the double yellow lines outside the school even if this is only for a short period of time.  Double parking or parking on the pavement is extremely dangerous and we would not like any of our children to come to any harm due to inconsiderate parking.  We ask that you drop off and pick up your child in the car park behind the school.    Alternatively you can park in one of the side streets near the school and walk with your child into the playground.

Most children enter the campus by the path running alongside the nursery and once the bell sounds, should line up in to enter the school by the doors at the rear of the building.

At the end of the school day, children are taken to the back doors by their teacher who will wait until every child has been collected .  Older children can leave by the front of the building to walk home alone if permitted.  P1-3 children must be collected by a responsible person.  Please do not stand too close to the school building to allow us to see who is collecting the children.  If, for any reason, you are going to be late collecting your child, please phone the school office and we will keep your child safe until you arrive.
