Welcome to Primary 5's webpage where you will find lots of information about your child's learning! I feel very lucky to be teaching Primary 5 this year and can't wait to share our exciting learning with you all. Currently, there are 27 children in the class.

On this page you can find out important information about our class such as P.E times and homework.

PE is currently happening outside, weather permitting, on a Monday and

Friday. So please send your child to school on those days dressed

for going outside for PE.  If the weather is particularly poor we will do PE in the hall.

Our Topic this term is Rivers and Continents!

The reading groups are reading their novel or book in class every Friday.

The reading homework is in 2 forms.

The first is the novel/book in the children’s reading folder. The children all  have a novel/book to read. They must bring it in on a Friday . Once each group has read they will be given another chapter or a set of pages to read for the following week. Even if you dont hear your child read out loud to you, please try to ask them questions about what they have read.

For example... Why do you think that character did that? What do you think will happen next?

The second is to complete a reading journal task.

Please encourage the children to do both lots of reading homework.

The children have all now been assessed and have been allocated a spelling group. Each group will have their own list of words to learn each week.  They will write these in the spelling homework book that is in their reading folder, on a Monday.
