West Dunbartonshire Council Welcome to St Peter the Apostle High School

Just to let you know that there will be a Dinner/Dance on Friday 27 April at Clydebank and District Golf Club to raise funds to help with the cost of the visit by 4 members of staff and 8 pupils from Olaleni in June 2012.
Tickets are £35 which includes a welcome drink and 3 course meal with wine followed by a disco and can be purchased from Shanead Friel.
The annual Golf tournament will also take place on Friday 1 June, also at Clydebank and District Golf Club. The cost for this is £140 per team of 4 which includes breakfast roll and tea/coffee, round of golf and dinner afterwards.  This is followed by evening Charity auction hosted by John Clark (Lisbon Lion).  This is always a fabulous day and this year even falls on a school holiday!  Get in touch with Brian Meehan to enter your team!
I hope that as many of you as possible will support this to help maintain our relationship with Olaleni Secondary School.
Thanks very much!

The Olaleni Project

For the past 8 years our school has had a relationship with Olaleni Secondary school in Tanzania.  The link was started by Ms Farren in the Art Department and the staff and pupils of the school have built on this.

Staff and pupils from both schools have made visits to their counterparts and the experiences have been life changing for all involved.

The visits are seen as a way of sharing good practice on both sides.  Whilst there are considerable fund raising events, this is not the main purpose of the relationship.  The umbrella trust that looks after links between schools in Scotland and Tanzania is called Twende Pamoja which means Lets Walk Together.

The next visit will take place in June 2013 when our visitors from Tanzania travel to Scotland.  If you would like more information, please feel free to contact Mrs Friel in the Business Studies department and Mrs Duffy in RE.
