Morning Meeting/Staff sheet – Monday 20TH May 2013
 
Champions Group –Alison MacDonald and Damian Heaneyspoke about their visit to Williamwood and Park Mains High Schools on Thursday and the discussions that took place the following day. These are being fed into the design brief for the new school.
PTs – Peter Bain requested updated homework statements to Christine Cameron by Monday and asked that departments also look at their Standards and Quality Information as this is now also submitted to HMIe. Tutor teachers were reminded to tackle the basics – ties, equipment, etc – during Period 1.
Class Observations – These need to be carried out and recorded in Departmental Minutes as they are required for HMIe for self-evaluation.
School Inspection – A Preparation for Inspection Meeting will be taking place to ensure everything is in place for a future Inspection.
S3 Profile – S3 tutors should encourage pupils to think about their best achievement this year.
School Show – Sam Martin thanked all those who offered VHS recorders for the show and said he now has the two he requires. 
Clan Challenge – S1-S3 pupils will make their own music video to Bohemian Rhapsody with the top three winners being chosen by SLT. Please speak to Sam Martin or Suzanne Gilvray if you need any help. The video camera can be booked from the technicians.
S1/S2/S3 Electives – Tim Woodcock apologised in advance for disruption caused to classes this week due to electives being sorted out.
Tutor Class Feedback – Tim Woodcock requested that feedback be provided on the Tutor Class system by Friday.
Marathon – Tim Woodcock is running the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday and he reminded staffs who have not yet sponsored him that sponsor forms are available in school.

Any students who would like to try and learn some of the traditional heavy events from the Highland Games should attend the new after school club on Mondays on the rugby pitch with Mr Hamilton.
 
The Monday Gymnastics club has finished now until the start of the new session.
 
Calling all journalists and photographers
·       Interested in a career in journalism?
·       We are looking for roving reporters and photographers to help with a school newspaper and provide articles for the school website. 
·       Open to all year groups.
·       Come to the library at 1.20 pm on Monday 27 May for more information.
 
S1 and S2 pupils who are interested in going to the Edinburgh Book Festival should see Miss Black or Miss Russell for more information.

·       Archery has now moved outside to the rugby pitch after school on Tuesday. 
·       Meet up at the benches next to the pitch.
 
The Athletics club has started up on a Wednesday 3.45 pm till 4.45 pm after school for any year group.
We will be working on running, jumping and hurdling.
 
All young people (11-15 years) wanting to go along to the Iona Walking Pilgrimage             Friday 7 - Sunday 9 June, please collect Booking/Consent Forms, Itinerary, Check List and Letter, from office by Friday 31 May.
For telephone bookings call Craiglodge Office              01838 200216 or Youth Office 01838 200347.
Completed and signed consent forms are a must to attend pilgrimage! See Denise or Oonagh in E3 during Friday lunchtime.

·       Mrs Sharp's room, 1.20 pm, bring your lunch.
·       We are very keen for those of ALL faiths and beliefs to come along to share their views.
