Oban High School, 1st February 2010

 
 
·        9 of the 11 jobs have been allocated following 4 days of interviewing.
·        Still awaiting clearance to advertise the other 2 posts.
·        Girls block will be complete by the Easter holidays.
·        Pupil Council minutes, general information and the reports to the parent council are now on the school website. More information to follow.
·        The newly formed Food Committee will be having its first meeting on the 2nd February to discuss new menus.

Glencruitten Hostel Report for Parents Council Meeting

Oban High School, 17th November 2009

 
·        9 of the 11 jobs will be advertised in this weeks Oban Times, closing date 4th December.
·        Other 2 posts should be advertised mid December.
·        Inspection went well – pupils and staff reported huge improvements. Pupils happy with the sanctions that have been put in place and felt they were issued consistently.
·        Boys successfully moved into new B block during October holidays.
·        Floor on ground floor varnished during holidays.
·        Work now underway on the A block.
·        Pupils only concern during the inspection was the food – evaluation sheets and discussions taking place to resolve the issues.

Glencruitten Hostel Report for Parents Council Meeting

Oban High School, 7th September 09

 
 
  • Building works on schedule – boys due to move to refurbished block after October holidays. Downstairs floors to be varnished during the October holidays.
 
  • Pupils accepting rule changes.
 
  • Pupils accepting sanctions well when reprimanded.
 
  • Staff reporting improvement in behaviour.
 
  • Night shift staff commented that they no longer see pupils up and down the stairs during the night.
 
  • Supported study begins in Oban High School on Mon 7th September.
 
  • Study room available as a quiet room from 6-7pm each evening. Mr Craik is available on a Tuesday and Thursday evening to assist.
 
  • New activities introduced to fill void left by the change in the study routine.
 
  • Letters have been sent out to invite parents to join the Glencruitten Hostel Parent Council.
 
  • Inspection of hostel taking place November 3rd 2009.
