Morning Meeting/Staff sheet – Monday 25th June 2012               
Congratulations – To Murray Hamilton & Nan Johnstone for their success in interview for PT Health & Well-Being & Mathematics.
Thanks – To Arie for all his help over the years. We will say goodbye properly on Friday at 1pm when all the staff will meet.
Sports Day – Murray will email out final details to everyone by the end of today.
Prize-Giving – On Wednesday at 7.30 in Argyllshire Gathering Hall.
Pupil Leadership Team – The Head Boy is Ryan Cook; Head Girl is Mairi Beaton. Clan leaders of Diarmid are Alistair Fothergill & Gillian MacKechnie. Fingal are Conor Lane & Eilidh MacLean; Ossian are Josh Tinline-Batholomew & Elizabeth Watson and Somerled are Partick MacKinnon & Rebecca Sims. Well done to them all.
Drama – Thanks to everyone who attended the S3 performances and to all who helped out the department with please-takes etc.
Thanks – To the Home Ec department for entertaining the Laurinburg students, they had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

 

 

 

Morning Meeting/Staff sheet – Monday 18th June 2012


Thanks – To everyone for their help last week with the Induction Days. The new pupils all enjoyed their time here and didn’t want to return to the primaries. Thanks especially to the PE department for their help over the 3 days.


Young Enterprise – Zenith were in the Young Enterprise Finals and although they didn’t win they did themselves and the school proud. Rosie Matheson made it through to the final 3 for the Managing Director Prize and Angus Sinclair gained the highest mark in Scotland in the Young Enterprise Exam.


Laurinburg – The Americans arrived on Thursday. They will be in school today following the classes of the person they are staying with.
 

Trips – The Barcelona and Battlefields trips went very well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Kirsteen would like to thank Murdoch for his help.


Clan Debate – The Clan Debate is taking place next Monday (25th) from 9.30am – 12 noon. If you have pupils in your classes that are participating in this and it is quiet in the class would it be possible for them to practice.


Improvement Plan Group – Meeting tomorrow in Helen’s room (L5) at 3.45pm.
 

Youth Games – Went very well OHS won 6 out of 14 competitions which was a great achievement. The Sports Leaders did very well helping out.


Sports Day – Heats are taking place this week – S1 today; S2 on Wednesday and S3 on Thursday in the mornings. Can tutors please encourage their pupils to enter. Long Jump and High Jump finals will take place periods 5 & 6 on all days.


German Student – There is a German student in this week, Emma Storr will be taking her round.


Drama – An S3 performance will take place on Tuesday & Thursday at 6.30pm in the Assembly Hall, tickets are £3 at the door. Please support our students. On Friday & Monday there will be full day rehearsals for We Will Rock You.
 

Health & Well-Being – Murray would like the email he sent to PT’s about Health & Well-Being returned to him with your thoughts asap.


French Exchange – The assemblies went very well, if you have any pupils in your tutor group that are interested please send them to the Language department.


Cover – The cover situation has been awful, around 50 can be issued in a week – there were 82 issued in one day last week! Please do not hassle Janice regarding please takes – speak to Keith.
