Train Disruption Update

Article Date: Thursday 21st January 2010

Further to the ongoing problem with the railway line at Whitecraigs station, trains on the Neilston to Patterton route will continue to run on an amended timetable for the foreseeable future.

At the end of school today,Thursday, pupils will be bussed from the school to Neilston Station and one coach will go direct to Uplawmoor Village. Pupils who normally catch onward transport to rural areas at Neilston station should go to Neilston station to catch their onward connections.

The buses will pick up the pupils from the school grounds and will have destination signs in their front windows. In other words the Uplawmoor pupils should look for the coach with “Uplawmoor Village Only” in the front window.

On Friday morning the school train will run from Neilston to Patterton at the normal time of 8.22. From now on this 8.22 train will be running for the duration of the amended timetable, consequently normal transport arrangements will apply in the mornings for the pupils.

At the end of the school day on Friday the same arrangements will apply as mentioned above for Thursday ie.one coach will take Uplawmoor village pupils directly to Uplawmoor and the remaining coaches will take all the other pupils to Neilston Station.

The situation regarding the homeward journeys to Neilston and Uplawmoor will be clarified over the weekend when an official temporary timetable will be finalised.

I will contact parents again on Monday to explain the homeward transport arrangements that will apply from then on.

Thank you for your support and cooperation in this difficult situation.

Train Disruption

Article Date: Wednesday 20th January 2010

Due to an ongoing problem with the railway line at Whitecraigs station, trains on the Neilston to Patterton route will be running hourly on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st of January. Unfortunately, the trains running on the emergency timetable at present do not tie in with the school opening and closing times i.e. they are a 1/2 hour out.

At the end of school today, Wednesday, pupils will be bussed from the school to Neilston Station and one coach will go direct to Uplawmoor Village. Pupils who normally catch onward transport to rural areas at Neilston station should go to Neilston station to catch their onward connections.

The buses will pick up the pupils from the school grounds and will have destination signs in their front windows. In other words the Uplawmoor pupils should look for the coach with "Uplawmoor Village Only" in the front window.

On Thursday morning Henry Crawford buses will bring the pupils from Neilston station to the school. They will leave the station at 8.20am. One coach will come direct to the school from Uplawmoor Village. It will leave from outside the Uplawmoor Hotel at 8.15am. At the end of the school day on Thursday the same arrangements will apply as mentioned above for Wednesday ie one coach will take Uplawmoor Village pupils directly to Uplawmoor and the remaining coaches will take all the other pupils to Neilston Station.

It is hoped that the track problem will be solved this week. If alternative arrangements have to be made for school journeys on Friday I will let you know - although, if required, it is likely that they will be the same as for Thursday.

Thankyou for your support and cooperation in this difficult situation.
