Our school is currently working towards accreditation in Nil By Mouth’s Champions For Change Award Scheme which aims to recognise good practice in Anti-Sectarian Education. We have recently been visited by Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Education who gave a very positive report on work so far, our S2 pupils have been delivering Anti-Sectarian workshops at local primary schools, and plans are in place for an inter schools football tournament with Duncanrig and St Andrews and St Brides.
As part of our work, a group of S6 pupils have produced an
Anti-Sectarian Charter for Duncanrig, outlining rules, disciplinary procedures and advice for pupils in dealing with Sectarian incidents. The Charter is currently being launched at year group assemblies, and your child will be issued with a paper copy which we would like you to read, and sign a return- slip with comments or suggestions.
It is anticipated that Nil By Mouth will be returning to our school in June to run workshops for groups of pupils, staff and parents in dealing with sectarian incidents.
As always, we appreciate your help in supporting this initiative. The following link is to the letter that will be issued to parents informing them of the charter -
Letter to Parents.
