Netball Success

Scotland Under-21 Debut

Congratulations to Lisa Murray (S6) who recently made her debut for the Scotland U21 netball team in an international match against South Africa in Glasgow.  Lisa played very well against a very physical South Africa team and more than held her own at this very high level of competition.

Children In Need

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Duncanrig’s fundraising events for Children in Need last Friday: our current total is £800 and rising!  Well done to members of the Pupil Council for organising the raffle, especially Ruairidh Darroch for sourcing the excellent prizes, and to our ‘pyjama people’ Claire Welsh, Lisa Thomson, Kim McCaig, Kristina Caskie and Jason O’Neil from S5 for all their hard work.

Lifesaving Success

Congratulations to Lisa Domican who won a gold medal at the National Lifesaving Championships in Sheffield recently.

Girl’s Football

Congratulations to Ainsley Douglas, S2, who successfully reached the under 15s South West Regional Squad.  We all wish her good luck with the next stage.

Up and Running: Pupils set high standards

In my June newsletter I asked for your co-operation in ensuring that we marked our move to new accommodation with a renewed effort to maintain high standards among our pupils. I specifically mentioned the total ban on chewing gum, the drive for 100% full school uniform, the ban on mobile phone usage during class times and changes of period and consistent punctuality.  I wish to congratulate our pupils and you on the response to my request. The standard of uniform is excellent at the moment with every pupil making the effort to where black trousers/skirts and black jumpers.

Health Promoting School

I am delighted to inform you that we have successfully achieved Health Promoting School Silver status.   This success is due to the hard work of a number of staff and pupils and is just reward for their hard work.   Having achieved this success we now turn our attention to achieving Gold status.
